Wife of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Margaret was an accomplished artist in her own right. She trained at Glasgow School of Art and was one of the Glasgow Four, of Glasgow Style fame. She mixed curves and lines, muted and strong colours, natural and dream-like images. I tried to encompass this in my portrait of Margaret, with her distinctive hairstyle a focal point. This is based on my own drawing and I chose the glass to mirror her use of pale colours and floral textures.

This is 34 x 31 cm and framed on three sides with hand made hanging loops.
