A dainty 8-6 cm fused glass trinket dish, perfect to hold jewellery or little bits and pieces. Each one is unique. This one is made from a lush red Bullseye glass with two tiny red hearts fused into the dish itself. A perfect little gift.

Fusing glass is a slow process. First, the glass is hand cut into shape, and layered to get the final 6mm depth. The first firing in the kiln fuses the layers together flat. After cooling for up to 12 hours, a second firing to a lower temperature allows the glass to melt into a delicate bowled shape. After another 12 hours of cooling, it can be removed from the kiln.

Glass is resilient, strong, heatproof and beautiful to handle. It’s also fragile if dropped on a hard surface.

This fused glass Elvis portrait is 100% glass, made with different grades of frit (ground glass). The portrait was hand drawn on the kiln shelf, then the frit was placed carefully to make the face come alive.

The post Glass Elvis first appeared on KayBee Glass.

Elvis was my second crush; my first was Freddie Mercury. I still love those old Elvis films; cheesy, wholesome, slightly misogynistic. Did you know he made 31 films? I don’t think I have seen them all https://www.elvisthemusic.com/films/.

This fused glass Elvis portrait is 100% glass, made with different grades of frit (ground glass). The portrait was hand drawn on the kiln shelf, then the frit was placed carefully to make the face come alive.

Then it was fused in the kiln, just enough for the glass to begin to melt but not enough that the whole thing becomes smooth and uniform. This was exhibited at the Scottish Glass Society’s ‘Alchemy’ exhibition at Trades Hall in Glasgow in Autumn 2025 alongside Glass Marilyn who was made using the same technique.

He has been permanently mounted in a 30 x 30 cm white frame. The glass was removed so you can see Elvis’s texture properly.

A perfect gift for an Elvis fan; unique, beautiful, iconic.
